Standing for the Church with Boldness, Zeal, and Love
In a time where the Truth of the Catholic Church is under relentless and sinister attack by a culture of relativism, atheism, hedonism, and secularism, men and women of faith need to join together, rise up, and defend the Beauty of Mother Church.
In a time when the faith and love of many of our fellow Catholics have grown cold, the Church needs modern missionaries committed to rebuilding the faith through knowledge and holy witness.
This is the heart of the Defending the Faith Conference.
Participants learn more than how to win arguments – they learn to win souls. They learn not only how to speak the truth, but how to pass on the faith. They are challenged and empowered to go and take the lead in the New Evangelization with holy boldness, zeal, and love. If you feel called to transform the Church by bringing the strength to defend the Church and witness to the people in your parish, then you will not want miss this opportunity for training, fellowship, and empowering.
“Behold, I make all things new.” Revelation 5:21
From His throne in heaven to the depths of your heart, these words of Jesus are an invitation for you to receive the new life that He alone can give. He is longing to elevate your life above the things of this world – to help you overcome fear, anxiety, confusion and doubt. He wants to break the things that hold you down and give you freedom from sin. He is calling you to follow Him and enter into a transforming experience with His love, grace, and mercy! He can make you new! This summer, join over 50,000 other Catholic teens at one of our 25 youth conferences and experience the joy of following Christ and being elevated by His love.

This years theme is "The Power of One"
The March for Life in Washington D.C. is scheduled for January 26th - 28th 2017. We have students coming from St. Joe's, St. Mary's, MHT and St. Pat's and we now only have a few spots left.
A world where every human life is valued and protected.
The mission of the March for Life is to provide all Americans with a place to testify to the beauty of life and the dignity of each human person. Both in January, on the anniversary of legalized abortion in the US, and throughout the year we bring together pro-life leaders and groups to organize, unite and strategize around a common message, and to communicate this message to the government, the media and the nation in a way that is powerful and life affirming.
January 22, 1973 is ingrained in the minds of pro-lifers because on that infamous historic day the Supreme Court invalidated 50 state laws and made abortion legal and available on demand throughout the United States in the now-infamous decisions in Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton.
The March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since 1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, legalized abortion on demand.
At the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, we mourned the death in 2012 of Nellie Gray, the founder of the March for Life and the “Joan of Arc” of the pro-life movement. In October 1973, months after the Roe and Doe decisions, a group of thirty pro-life leaders gathered in Nellie’s home in Washington, D.C. to discuss how to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Roe. There was a fear that January 22 would pass as any other day rather than allow for a moment to reflect upon how legalized abortion had hurt women and taken babies’ lives over the course of the year. That was the day that plans for the first March for Life began.
Please save the date for January 21st, 2017 for our first Regional Marriage Event Night called: "We STILL Do" with special guest speaker Teresa Tomeo and her husband Deacon Dom. This event will be hosted here at St. Joseph Parish, but it is a co-sponsored event with St. Mary's Westphalia and Most Holy Trinity in Fowler.

Everyone is welcome to St. Joseph's Parish Mission with Dc. Ralph this December
"The Lord is Risen, do you Believe?"
Goal for the Mission:
Four nights of sound, practical and motivational teachings that will not only help you understand what we do as Catholics but also lead you to the transforming power of a viable relationship with Christ. We want to move you from a boring, obligatory faith to a life-giving, healing faith centered on a relationship with Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Saturday, December 10th - Deacon Ralph will be doing a special training of disciples for ANYONE who is feeling the call to go deeper with the Lord. The event is from 9:00am - 3:00pm. To RSVP please email Dan Downes at firstname.lastname@example.org
The rest of the Parish Mission nights will be starting at 6:30pm in the church
Sunday. December 11th - “Are You In or Just Playing Church?” – This talk will practically identify where each person truly is in their faith journey. We will put together the puzzle pieces of our Faith so that all can clearly see how our Catholic faith is supposed to lead us into a passionate relationship with Christ.
Monday, December 12th - “Why Our Faith Has Made Little Sense Thus Far.” – This presentation will unmask the formation we have already received, and you won’t like what you find out. By the time we graduate from high school, we are fully formed not to be what we were created to be.
Tuesday, December 13th - “Are We Committed to Truth or Lies?” – This presentation on Spiritual Warfare will continue to reveal how Satan attempts to corrupt our spiritual lives so that we reject God’s will for our lives.
Wednesday. December 14th - “Becoming a Disciple of Jesus Christ” – This
presentation concludes the series by providing practical instruction on becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. The parable of the Sower reveals to us that around 75% of those in attendance at the mission will lose the fire they gained within a couple of weeks. The journey into discipleship is not easy and requires support to continue. Those who are serious about keeping their relationship with Christ alive and well will need to learn the fundamentals needed to grow in Christ.
